In order to rapidly test wireless signal strength on their planes, Boeing has devised a low-tech stand-in for human beings: potatoes. Rather than paying people to sit in planes for days while they conduct tests, Boeing is using sacks of potatoes.

Perhaps not coincidentally, “like sacks of potatoes” is exactly how most airlines treat their passengers.
