Down in Tennessee’s Cocke County, a judge has changed a baby’s name from “Messiah” to “Martin”, citing her own Christian beliefs for the decision. However:
Last year more than 700 babies were named Messiah in the US, according to the Social Security Administration.
Child Support Magistrate Lu Ann Ballew might have been able to get away with this in many other countries, but in the US, she should probably prepare to be overturned.
Update (October 28th, 2013): Sure enough, Judge Ballew was overturned and more.
