You’ve likely already seen video of Tara the “Hero Cat”, who saved a child from a dog attack. Now the nearby Bakersfield Blaze minor league baseball team will be honoring Tara by having her throw out the first pitch at tomorrow’s game. That’s sure to really be something.
Perhaps even more amazing is this note from the article:
The Altoona Curve in Pennsylvania once had an “Awful Night,” in which fans would be treated to horrible service and be given souvenirs like…a photo of the coach’s gall bladder.
The Curve apparently actually held several Awful Nights, and they sound amazing. This stellar writeup of the 2007 “Awful Night” may well make you sad to have missed it.
Update (May 21st, 2014): Apparently the first “pitch” had an elaborate setup which ultimately failed.
