Someone’s Gonna Lose Big

Down in Jacksonville, Florida, a massive lawsuit is brewing. The Police and Fire Pension Fund there has spent over $160,000 defending itself against Curtis Lee, who’s spent over $30,000 himself, along with hundreds of hours of his own time. What are they fighting over? Well, in part, it’s about a $326 charge for access to public records. On a broader level, Lee is fighting the pension fund over, that’s right, mismanagement of funds.

As the article notes:

Both sides are hoping Circuit Judge James H. Daniel will tell the other to pay the bill when he rules on the case, for which closing arguments were offered in April.

At least one side is going to be truly screwed.
