Last week, the Red Sox and Tigers squared off in a fantastic league championship series. Way back in Game 2, Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz came up with the bases loaded and his club down four runs. He promptly clobbered the first pitch he saw into the Red Sox bullpen for a game-tying grand slam. When he did, Boston cop Steve Horgan was there, with his arms outstretched in celebration, in a photo which has been dubbed “the thrill of victory and the agony of de feet”.

It’s a great image, and now, Horgan is taking off around Boston. Boston Magazine has compiled a great set of Photoshops of Horgan in other scenes. Gladiator is perhaps my favorite.
