When Miles Astray submitted a real snap to a photography awards’ AI category, he “wanted to show that nature can still beat the machine and that there is still merit in real work from real creatives”. His image placed third, and won the “People’s Vote Award”, before being disqualified for not being generated with AI.
I appreciate the ruse, and the result. However, I’m not really sure this means much beyond “AI images and real photographs” are increasingly difficult to tell apart”.
