Paint scientists, which, sure, of course is a thing, are working to cool your house passively. That’s an excellent idea, but every single article about this is referring to “sweating”, and it’s really not appealing. For instance, from Popular Science:
To address these challenges, a team led by researchers at China’s Nanyang Technological University turned to two main inspirations: cement and sweat. The construction material can absorb an immense amount of liquid, while sweating is the body’s primary method to leverage evaporation’s passive cooling effects.
Perhaps we could focus on the efficacy of this paint, rather than using the word “sweat” so much. How about “hypercooling” paint?
