Recently, a little birdie tipped me off to the following post from a local Boston “Buy Nothing” group:

It was immediately obvious to me that this poster was confused as to what exactly this product was. The item pictured is dairy milk from fancy-ass cows who only eat grass, and it’s a premium product. I am confident that this person instead believed they had “milk” which had somehow been made, or possibly expressed, from grass. I can only imagine what would have happened had they instead received errant pea milk.
The Buy Nothing Project’s About page states “We exist to build resilient communities where our true wealth is the connections forged between neighbors”. With that benevolence as a guiding light, surely another group member educated the poster about exactly what they had, right?

Swing and a miss! No one corrected the misapprehension, but two people were happy to exploit this person’s ignorance. So much for forging a connection between neighbors.
