The 613 commandments of Orthodox Judaism weren’t exactly created with the 21st century in mind. A recent rabbinical ruling may prevent Orthodox Jews from using specially designed Shabbat elevators. The best part of the article on this, however?

A debate a decade ago by another leading rabbi concluded that nose-picking was allowed on the Sabbath. It was under discussion because nose hairs may be plucked out in the process, and cutting hair on the Sabbath is outlawed.
