From Esquire’s Style Blog comes a depressing exposé on waist sizes. In short, your pants are lying to you, and a 36″ waist usually isn’t.
Old Navy’s pants are off by a preposterous five inches. Perhaps a new form of measurement should be devised, wherein:
1.139 standard inches = 1.000 Old Navy inch
Thus an Old Navy foot would then be equal to 13.668 standard inches, and an Old Navy yard of 36 inches would be equal to a fantasy world you’re selling to your overweight-but-in-denial customers.
