Recently, an unspecified number of American spies in Lebanon and Iran were caught, and may have been executed. It appears to be a case of both treacherous double agents and simple sloppiness. A particular problem may have been with “coded” language the spies were using.
The CIA used the codeword “PIZZA” when discussing where to meet with the agents, according to U.S. officials. Two former officials describe the location as a Beirut Pizza Hut.
That’s too pathetic to be true, right?
