Newt Gingrich has finally ended his campaign for president, a week after reports stated he would. There are lots of reasons for Gingrich’s campaign to end, but this is one of the best.

His campaign descended into near farce last week when he was bitten in the hand by a penguin during a visit to a zoo in St. Louis.

Yes, “near” farce.
