When an NYU staffer sent an email to the wrong list, he gave nearly 40,000 Violets the ability to reply to all of their fellow students. As might have been predicted, those students did not use this power wisely, sparking a so-called ‘Replyallcalypse’.
That said, as Dylan Stableford noted:
A visually inclined student simply attached a photo of Nicholas Cage, which 40,000 students now share and can enjoy whenever they want.
Now that’s using great power responsibly. And thoughtfully!
