AT&T has an impressive ad touting the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active as “whatever-proof”.1 Among other things, the phone survives a coffee spill, a dunk in a fish tank, and a dip in a pool. It’s rather extraordinary.
Do not try this at home.
Unfortunately, it also appears to be a load of hokum. VentureBeat has an article detailing issues users have had with the device. It also points out a rather ridiculous fact: The warranty for this water resistant phone doesn’t cover water damage.
