Gas prices in Venezuela are increasing 5900% due to a new tax, combined with currency fluctuations. And yet, they’ve still got the cheapest gas in the world.
The jump in gasoline prices will push up costs 60-fold, while still ensuring that Venezuelans enjoy the cheapest fuel costs in the world. As of Thursday, the gasoline price will rise to 6 bolivars a liter from 9.7 centavos. That’s equal to about 11 U.S. cents per gallon using the weakest legal exchange rate of 202.94 bolivars per dollar.
Anyone wanna make a run down to Venezuela with me, stock up on some gas, maybe bring some back to sell?
