In January of 2015, now-convicted rapist Brock Allen Turner sexually assaulted a woman publically known only as “Emily Doe”. A year and a half later, Turner was given an extraordinarily light sentence, with the presiding judge stating that he feared a longer sentence would have a “severe impact” on Turner. Emily Doe responding by providing the full statement she read in court, and it’s something everyone should read.
