Speaking of rather meaningless word salads, an artificial intelligence which named itself “Benjamin” wrote a screenplay named “Sunspring”. Benjamin’s creators then produced the screenplay and entered it in Sci-Fi London’s 48-Hour Film Challenge.
One judge, award-winning sci-fi author Pat Cadigan, said, “I’ll give them top marks if they promise never to do this again.”
Ars Technica is hosting the movie, and referred to it as “strangely moving”. I can’t say I agree. That said, while the short film is both bizarre and fairly nonsensical, the entire experiment is nevertheless quite interesting.
