If a Director From the Institute of Peace Wants to Punch You, You Might Be an Asshole

The New York Times had a good piece on how best to engage with literal nazis, specifically by using mockery. It’s a smart idea, and one that’s worked well in the past. This particular quote really got me though:

“I would want to punch a Nazi in the nose, too,” Maria Stephan, a program director at the United States Institute of Peace, told me. “But there’s a difference between a therapeutic and strategic response.”

The emphasis in the quote is added, for obvious reasons.
