It’s Labor Day here in the United States, a holiday originally created to pay tribute to American workers. Perhaps the most important thing we as workers do collectively is to help fund an enormous safety net for our entire population, including the unemployed. Michele Catalano wrote a powerful piece on one such individual, entitled The Woman Who Is My Country.
You might also like to give Greg Knauss’ piece entitled Bugged a read, to learn just how expensive a bug bite can be, and why the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is so vital.
