Politicizing public art that’s dedicated to a children’s book is generally something which should be avoided. However, separating immigrant children from their families and putting them in cages is something which should never, ever be permitted. Using Boston’s “Make Way for Ducklings” statue, artist Karyn Alzayer recently made that point.

The installation didn’t stay up for long, but it provided a powerful image nonetheless.
