Using artificial intelligence in place of humans has problems. Using AI to augment humans, however, certainly seems promising. Recently, Italian rescue workers were able to locate the body of a missing hiker thanks in part to AI analysis of drone imagery, which then enabled them to target their search much more precisely. In the future, this could likely be used to rescue the living as well.
